1961 First edition first impression. Size octavo, 8.5" tall, 156 pages. Navy Blue cloth covered boards with gilt titles to the spine, with the dust jacket. Book condition very good plus, corners and spine ends a little rubbed, offsetting from jacket on end-papers, pages are slightly toned otherwise clean throughout. Dust jacket condition good plus, corners and edges are rubbed and a little nicked spine sunned, a couple of age/handling marks on panels, not price clipped, price 18s. net. Thomas Charles Lethbridge (1901-1971) was a well-known British author, archaeologist and psychic researcher, who was committed to investigating occult subjects, such as dowsing, ghosts, witchcraft, etc in a scientific manner. The subtitle of the American edition, published a year later is "An Archaeologist's Account of His Personal Experiences with the Supernatural." Accounts of paranormal encounters by the noted archaeologist, whose analysis supports a scientific approach to the question of what a ghost might be.Lethbridge has always maintained a high reputation among those interested in fresh ideas and insights.
