Endpapers are browned. Small bookseller stamp (Boosey and Hawkes) to ffep. Loosely laid in vintage receipt dated 1948 from that bookseller who was at the time located in Regent St. The receipt is for this book Dust wrapper is clipped and browned with small price sticker of 7/6 to front. Chip at the head of the spine and smaller area of wear at the tail. Another closed tear at the top corner running into some minor shelf wear along the top edge. No other tears 4 colour lithographic plates and frontispiece (Maytime; song by Christoph Willibald Gluck). 41 black and white illustrations. Including portraits of composers and poets, original scores, first edition of songs and drawings from early music sheets. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Presents well in removable sleeve.
