Stated First printing. Black cloth with titles stamped in gilt. Octavo. 341 pages. Interior clean and bright with some light even age toning. Cover clean with nice gilt titles. Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. First Edition. First Edition (1933.) Hardcover with dust jacket. 8vo with 341 pages. The book is in good condition with remnants of glue 1" by 1" squared on front pastedown and 1" square on front free end paper. Interior is clean and tight. The dust jacket is in fair condition with some shelf wear, 1/4" missing from top of spine, one piece 1/4' by 2/16" missing from top of front flap and rubbing to edges. Boyle and her husband were victims of early 1950s McCarthyism. Her husband was dismissed by Roy Cohn from his post in the Public Affairs Division of the United States Department of State, and Boyle lost her position as foreign correspondent for The New Yorker, a post she had held for six years.
