This edition reproduces the original spelling, typography, and woodcut illustrations.Smith"s text chronicles the early voyages, settlements, and encounters with Indigenous peoples in Virginia and New England, including his famous account of Pocahontas. The 1966 reprint, part of World Publishing"s 'Bibliotheca Americana' series of historical facsimiles, was likely aimed at historians, students, and collectors, and sought to preserve a key document in the literature of early English America.
