All books are sold "as is" unless discrepancies are found between the advertised description and their state. If you have questions not addressed within the book description, please contact us, and we will do our utmost to satisfy your inquiry before purchase.
Preferred payment method: bank transfer. Credit card and PayPal payments are accepted with a 3.5% surcharge to cover processing fees.
EU Consumer Right of Withdrawal and Returns
If you are a consumer, you may withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following provisions. A consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes outside their trade, business, craft, or profession.
Statutory Right to Withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period expires 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good, lot, or piece.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement through "My Purchases" in "My Account". An acknowledgement of receipt of your withdrawal will be provided on a durable medium, such as email, without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient to send your communication exercising the right of withdrawal before the 14-day withdrawal period expires.
Effects of Withdrawal
If you withdraw from the contract, we will reimburse payments received from you, including the original cost of delivery, except for any supplementary delivery costs resulting from your choice of a delivery method other than the least expensive standard delivery method offered.
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for any diminished value of the book resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics, and condition.
Reimbursement will be made without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed of your decision to withdraw.
Reimbursement will be made using the same means of payment used for the original transaction unless expressly agreed otherwise. You will not incur a reimbursement fee.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the returned book or you have supplied acceptable evidence that the book has been sent back, whichever occurs first.
Returning Rare and Antique Books
Rare and antique books are valuable and inherently fragile objects. Their age, bindings, paper, boards, spines, illustrations, plates, and other components can make them particularly susceptible to damage during handling, packing, and transport.
We provide descriptions and photographs of our books and strongly encourage you to ask all questions before purchasing. Please request any additional photographs or information you require concerning condition, binding, completeness, dimensions, edition, restoration, provenance, defects, or any other characteristic before placing your order.
Please satisfy yourself as to the condition and suitability of the book before purchasing. Returns of rare and high-value books can involve substantial packing, shipping, insurance, and handling costs, all of which should be considered before ordering.
The returned books must be returned to their store of origin. Please contact us in advance to deterime which store to return them to.
The return must be sent without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal. The deadline is met if you dispatch the goods before the 14-day return period expires.
You are responsible for the direct cost of returning the book.
Because antique and rare books may be fragile and of substantial value, returned books must be securely and appropriately packed to a protective standard suitable for their age, condition, fragility, and value. We strongly recommend using a tracked shipping service suitable for high-value goods and obtaining insurance for the book's full value.
Condition, Damage and Inspection
Returned books will be carefully inspected upon receipt and may be compared with photographs, condition reports, and other records made before dispatch.
You are liable for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and condition of the book.
This may include, where attributable to such handling, new damage, deterioration, soiling, staining, odours, markings, writing, creasing, abrasion, tears, moisture damage, damage to bindings, boards, spines, pages, illustrations or plates, loss of components, or other changes in condition.
Damage or deterioration caused by inadequate return packaging or inappropriate handling may also be taken into account to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Where legally recoverable, any diminution in value may be deducted from the reimbursement.
Cleaning, Conservation, Repair and Restoration
If handling for which you are responsible results in a returned book requiring specialist cleaning, conservation, repair, restoration, condition assessment, or other remedial work, the resulting loss in value and any reasonable costs that are legally recoverable may be taken into account when determining the deduction from your reimbursement.
No fixed restocking or cleaning fee will be imposed merely because you exercise your statutory right of withdrawal. Where the condition or value of a returned book has been diminished through handling beyond what is legally necessary to inspect it, an appropriate deduction may instead be made to reflect the actual diminished value and other amounts recoverable under applicable law.
Refunds
Returned books are inspected upon receipt to determine whether they have been returned in their original condition, subject to the handling permitted by applicable consumer law.
Where the book has been returned free from new damage, deterioration, soiling, odours, or other changes in condition for which you are responsible, the applicable reimbursement will be processed in accordance with the statutory time limits above.
Where a returned book has suffered diminished value for which you are responsible under applicable law, the corresponding legally recoverable amount may be deducted from the reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the returned book or you have supplied acceptable evidence that the book has been sent back, whichever occurs first.
Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal
The statutory right of withdrawal does not apply to:

The delivery of newspapers, journals, or magazines, with the exception of subscription contracts; and

The supply of digital content that is not supplied on a tangible medium, such as a CD or DVD, where you expressly agreed that delivery could begin during the withdrawal period and acknowledged that you would lose your right of withdrawal once performance began.
Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts any mandatory consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
