'This is the story of Joanna Lewison, whose mother died in giving her birth, whose father was never seen again, who was brought up by a rabelaisian, gin-soaking Granny in a New Zealand small town. Joanna's early life with this old reprobate was relieved only by glimpses of paradise when she stayed with an aunt and uncle in mountain country; for the rest, her sensitive, imaginative soul suffered torment. It was not surprising therefore, that she fell for the urgent wooing of young, ambitious Dr. Denniston and agreed to marry him with little understanding of what that marriage entailed. Novel set in New Zealand. ALL PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK. All books are sent with free courier postage within New Zealand.…
