This hilarious story was first published in the Strand magazine, and then as one of the stories that complete The Inimitable Jeeves in 1923. This delicate production was one of a series of Little Books of Laughter by publishers Hodder & Stoughton. A near fine example of the book, red boards with gold decorations, marbled endpapers. The imitation leather has a few marks but remains a bright hue, with a small area of white staining to the rear. No clippings or inscriptions and the contents are clean throughout, with only a hint of foxing (especially to the half title). In a very good dustwrapper indeed that is complete and very well preserved, with a small area of bleeding from the boards, some cracking to the folds and two short closed tears. Overall a splendid example of this charming pocket book - in a complete, unrestored dustwrapper - and uncommon thus.
