Add to basket14 1/2" x 9" x 1 1/2" quarter leather and cloth flat opening, sturdy, durabilt ledger, full of great original drawings and signatures. This was originally a ledger Granville Stuart used for recording family births and deaths. It was gifted to Dick Flood of Trailside Galleries by Mrs. Mary Stuart Abbott, who was Mrs. Teddy Blue Abbott. The Granville Stuart Records were removed from the ledger some years ago by Dick Flood of Trailside Galleries who framed them. In 1952 Dick Flood began selling Western art out of his Idaho Falls home. In 1954 he gave the growing business a name . Trailside Galleries . and in 1963 he relocated to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Trailside helped birth the enthusiasm for quality western art at a time when representational art received little respect from critics across the country. Trailside has long been and is widely acknowledged for nurturing and representing only the best, whether it was a legend like the late Harry Jackson or John Clymer, or a fresh new talent just emerging on the art scene. To that end, the gallery?s mission has always remained steadfast: to be a crossroads for both established and new talent. Full of great original drawings and signatures including Olaf Wieghorst, Ace Powell, Ted DeGrazia, Joe Beeler, Gus Shafer, Don Perceval, Harold Hopkinson, Charlie Dye, William Moyers, Wolfgang Pogzeba, Ernest Berke, Stan Lynde, and others. Autographs and inscriptions by Harold Davidson, Fred Renner, Ben Johnson, Rex Arrowsmith, Ed Bohlin, John Glenn, Tom Decker, Michael Kennedy, Frances Humphrey Howard (sister of Hubert H. Humphrey), A.A.R. Rockefeller, and many other artists, collectors and celebrities. Provenance included is a handwritten letter in Gerri Flood's hand regarding the history of the ledger. The ledger has rubbing to the fore-edges and the spine is loosened, but this is a sturdy ledger and is in strong very good condition.
