This is a hand made high school year book assembled by Fay Irene Butcher who attended Kansas City Kansas High School in Kansas City, Kansas. She graduated in 1918, one of some 186 in her class. Book size about 6 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches with some 180 or so pages. Bound in light brown cloth over boards with floral and gilt decoration. One of those early Yearbooks where the publisher provided an outline of what to enter in the book and then the student filled-in the book in whatever manner they chose. This is an average example of the type with student names, printed programs, writings from classmates, party invitations, press notices, various programs related to school work, seven photographs. Several items laid-in loose. I could say this is rare, but it is actually unique, one of a kind, as are all these old hand-made yearbooks. A reference book for Women's Studies showing how the young girl of the early 1900's was educated. This is one volume in a collection of some 65 of these old Yearbooks ranging from the late 1800's to the 1930's mostly from the Midwest which will be in my book seller catalog titled 'Women'.
