8vo. Black cloth with silver spine lettering, dust jacket. 151pp. Illustrations, pictorial endpapers. Near fine/very good. Mild jacket edgewear. This sharp and handsome first edition, inscribed large and bold in blue ink on inner flyleaf "To Deane W. Malott, with / best wishes, in [illegible] / John J. Rhodes." Below this is the custom bookplate of Deane Waldo Malott (1898-1996), a noted academic administrator and educator who served as assistant dean at Harvard Business School, chancellor of University of Kansas and president of Cornell University. Rhodes (1916-2003) was an influential Arizona congressman (1953-83) who served as House Minority Leader (1973-81).
