Add to basketFundamentals of Boxing by Barney Ross Little Technical Library. Ziff-Davis Publishing Company. Chicago. 127 pages. First Edition; first printing. Illustrated endpapers and several black & white photos showing Ross and his boxing techniques. Binding and hinges are strong. Book is tight and clean. Minimal shelfwear. Previous owner's name written on FFEP. Only flaw is some small instances of cloth loss as a result of some insect damage. This damage does not affect the book's strength, integrity or hinges. And if you're reading this you likely already know Ross led quite an interesting life. After family tragedy, he became a street fighter, money runner and was employed by Al Capone. He grew up with Jack Ruby and they remained lifelong friends. During WWII he served at Guadalcanal where his heroics earned him the Silver Star and a Rose Garden reception with President Franklin Roosevelt. Ross is most famously known for being a triple division boxing champion of lightweight, light welterweight and welterweight classes. A first edition, first printing of the elusive boxing classic.
