Item description from seller

Tonga is one of the few remaining kingdoms in the world and surely is the smallest. It is, moreover, the only Polynesian society that has maintained its political independence unbroken, and its cultural heritage largely intact. The book ends with an assessment of the problems of contemporary Tonga from the viewpoints af an anthropologist and an economist. **The jacket is sun faded at the spine, has 3 tape-repaired tears and a tiny piece missing from the inside bottom front.**.

Store description

Ron Robertson, along with his late wife Helen established Rons Bookshop in 1998 as a bricks and mortar bookshop. Helen died in 2014 and Ron carried on running the shop alone and joined the ABE family and commenced selling online in June 2017. Ron decided to close the bricks and mortar shop, from the close of business on December 31 2019 and concentrate on the online business from home. Whilst Rons does not specialise in any particular genre the business has an extensive collection of high quality books of all genres in paperback and hardback.
