The Frieda Lawrence Collection of D. H. Lawrence Manuscripts, E. W. Tedlock, Jr. — First Edition Publication: Albuquerque, University of New Mexico Press, 1948 Formatting: 8vo, pp. [xxxix], 333. Condition Report: Very Good. The book maintains its structural integrity with a tight binding and no major flaws or tears. The dark cloth boards exhibit typical minor signs of careful use and storage, most notably a superficial, pale scuff to the front board. The spine remains relatively crisp with its red title label and gilt lettering still distinct, albeit with slight rubbing. The text block edges are a touch age-toned with very faint spotting (foxing), but the pages within remain clean, bright, and free from significant defects. Catalogue Note: First edition. This thorough and meticulously researched bibliography was compiled in conjunction with Frieda Lawrence, providing an essential academic record of D. H. Lawrence's surviving manuscripts. The present copy is bound in its original dark cloth with a distinctive red spine label titled in gilt. While often encountered with a dust jacket, this copy is offered without one, presenting cleanly in its primary binding. It stands as a reliable, highly functional reference copy for the Lawrence scholar or collector. Compiled with the direct assistance and blessing of D. H. Lawrence's widow, Frieda, this descriptive bibliography offers an unparalleled window into the creative process of one of the twentieth century's most significant literary figures. E. W. Tedlock, Jr. exhaustively details the physical characteristics, provenance, and content of Lawrence's surviving manuscripts, diaries, and correspondence. A foundational text for any serious study of Lawrence's life and literary evolution, it remains an indispensable tool for researchers and bibliophiles alike.…
