The entries were made during the events that happened from August 1939 to October 1940: The officer served first in the Maginot Line, then in the north, whence he escaped from Dunkirk to England, reembarked for Cherbourg, loitered in the south of France waiting for demobilization, and finally contrived (by way of North Africa) to get to England to join the forces of General de Gaulle. 157 pages. Dust jacket is slightly faded on spine, one inch closed tear at fold of spine (not easily visible) , and minor soiling to back. Book has soiling to top edge and 1/16 inch hole in last free end page.
