A fairly good copy, bound in burgundy cloth with gilt lettering to the spine and motif on upper. Cloth edges and spine very slightly faded. Dust jacket is in good condition but shows some wear around spine and folds. Pages are free from notations but have some foxing occasionally and pencil marks. Edges are soiled and foxed but overall a good copy.

He remained an intellectual, however, an essayist, historian, poet, flautist, consorting when possible with the French writer Voltaire.

About the Author

Robert Asprey is a military historian whose articles and books are internationally respected. Born in 1923 he served as an officer in the Marines in World War II and in the Korean War. A Fulbright scholar, he studied at both Oxford University and the University of Vienna. His works include the best-selling War in the Shadows-The Guerrilla in History.
