Item description from seller

4to. Pp. 186. Several b&w photographic reproductions throughout. Index. The book appears to be of limited production: It seems to be a manuscript, merely typed, with leaves printed recto only. Burgundy buckram with gilt-stamped lettering on spine and front cover. Slightest wear top rear board else Fine. A fascinating history of important figures in the history of the Pacific Northwest lumber industry. The family's prosperity began in the late 19th C. through an affiliation with Captain William Renton, of Port Blakely. The Simpson-Reed dynasty prospers today as the largest private company (Simpson Investment Company) operating in Washington State. Includes William G. Reed's oral history, in interview form, of the Graymarsh Estate, in or near Sequim, WA. An increasingly uncommon title.
