The third published book in the Hornblower series. Original red cloth, lettered in silver to the spine. 8vo - 284pp, 3 pages of ads. An oddity in the Hornblower canon. This title was published the day before this stand-alone edition, where it was paired with A Ship Of The Line. The following day, Michael Joseph isssued this edition. This, to my experience, is the much scarcer edition. This copy, is extremely clean and bright. The dust jacket is without fading. There is a small area of creasing at the rear fore-edge corner. This copy also comes with the Book Society Wrap-around promotional band. A genuinely lovely copy of a scarce Hornblower title. Fine / Near Fine. Seller Inventory # 20114
