The Honey Dun Press limited edition of this reflective work of angling literature. Octavo, bound in half green morocco over marbled boards with gilt titles to the spine, gilt ruling to the front and rear panels, all edges speckled, with a hand-colored engraving of the natural flies from the circa 1810 first edition tipped in. One of 400 numbered copies, this is number 202. In fine condition, bookplate to the half-title page. Housed in a custom box with marbled boards and paper titles. Fly fishing is a method of angling in which fish are caught using an artificial “fly” cast with a weighted line and specialized rod, emphasizing precision, timing, and the controlled imitation of insect life. Beyond its technical demands—casting mechanics, reading currents, and matching local hatches—fly fishing has developed a distinct cultural tradition in which skill is framed as attentiveness to ecology and restraint toward the natural world.
