600pp. Octavo [21 cm] Light blue cloth with the title and an Alligator printed in blue on the front board. First state jacket. About very good/Near fine. Jacket chipped at extremities with some losses. This book was the first of thirteen guides published by Oxford. Essay section includes a chapter on 'Public Health and Social Welfare'. Illustrations arranged in eight sections: Natural Settings, Industry, Recreation, Cities I and II, Agriculture, Along the Highway I and II. Some photos taken by Farm Security Administration. Artwork provided by the Florida Federal Art Project. Illustrated throughout with black & white photographs and maps. Touring map on front pastedown and endsheet.
