Item description from seller

All 12 volumes first editions, first impressions. Original publishers cloth, all in the unclipped pictorial dust-jackets. Very slight sun-fading affecting red and yellow tints on dust-jackets of 'Great Game', 'at the Charge' and 'Royal Flash', although considerably less faded than is usual. Very slight toning to edges except on 'Great Game' and 'and the Dragon'. A near-fine set, seemingly unread. An exceptional full set of Flashman firsts. The adventures of MacDonald Fraser's rip-roaringly entertaining anti-hero Sir Harry Flashman. Cad, bounder, coward and swaggering toady (and sometime hero) Flashman is one of the great characters of 20th century historical fiction. MacDonald Fraser was a soldier himself and served during the twilight years of the British Empire. He owned a substantial reference library (including many first-hand accounts) which he drew upon, resulting in the series being well regarded for its historical accuracy. P. G. Wodehouse said of the series 'If there was a time when I felt that watcher-of-the-skies-when-a-new-planet stuff, it was when I read the first Flashman'.
