In good condition. Light wear to dust jacket minor chipping and light toning. Small tears at spine ends and corners. Dust jacket covered in removable Mylar jacket. Photographed before wrapping. Gold cloth in nice shape with minor scuffing. Pastedowns discolored red. And H was stamped in red on flyleaf. Interior lightly toned. Free of markings or ownership. Rear flyleaf lightly torn and folded. Binding intact. Please see photos. 1st Edition. copyright date is 1973, first edition, first print. Bound in yellow cloth with silver and copper lettering, this volume retains the original dust jacket. was published in 1929 in a shortened version as Sartoris was called by him Flags in the Dust. It is here published in a text based on an original typewritten version that the author retained along with an earlier handwritten copy, which has been used in correcting errors or ambiguities in the typed copy.As Douglas Day, the Editor, points out in his introduction, Faulkner believed that this would be the book that would make his name as a writer.
