Item description from seller

First printing of the true first edition. Illustrated with monochrome photographs including a frontispiece showing : 'Twins coach Twins at Warnambool, Victoria.' ***Very good in green cloth-covered boards with gilt titles to the spine. The boards are clean and largely unmarked - edges of boards just slightly rubbed. Bottom edge of front board slightly faded. No bumps or creases. Corners sharp. Edges of page-block foxed. No reading lean to the binding. Spine tight. Internally also very good with no inscriptions. Interior pages clean. No creases or tears. ***In a very good colour-illustrated price-clipped dustwrapper. The dustwrapper is complete - just slightly rubbed. Head and tail of spine slightly creased and rubbed. Edges of dustwrapper slightly rubbed, nicked and creased. Small closed tear and associated creasing to top edge of front panel. Back panel of dustwrapper slightly marked and discoloured (being a white background). Some fading to the colours on the spine - front panel bright. ***204mm x 138mm. 240 pages including appendix and index at the back of the book. ***'Vivid first-hand accounts of the historic 1950-1953 cricket season. After describing the West Indian Tour of England in 1950, the twins tell of the Test Trials in which they found themselves in opposition to each other, Alec being in the England XI and Eric in the Rest; then begins a detailed description of the M.C.C. tour of Australia and New Zealand, in which the inside story of both players and play is given, fairly and without bias, providing a new angle on one of the most controversial tours in cricket history. ***This is followed by such chapters as: The Springbok Tour, The !952 Season Against the Indians, County Cricket, Benefit Season, The Aussies at Trent Bridge, The Lord's Test, Old Trafford and Headingly and, of course, The Ashes - a graphic account of the England victory.' (Quote taken from the front flap of the dustwrapper) ***First printing of the true first edition in very good original condition. ***For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging: any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only: we will reduce the P & P charge where appropriate - please contact us for postal rates for heavier books and sets etc.…
