The First Trail is a collection of short stories specifically chosen to appeal to the young adult girl reader. It is illustrated with many black-and-white illustrations by several popular artists. The book was published by D. Appleton & Company in 1927 and appears to be a First Edition but is not specifically stated as such. It's not an ex-library copy and the book is in good + condition but has no dust jacket. The book is 6 1/2" by 9 1/2" and has 275 pages with a Table of Contents, leading the reader to several short stories written by such authors as Florence Hoatson, Lady Baden-Powell, Rudyard Kipling, Ridgwell Cullum, Ianthe Jerrold, Marjorie Bowen , and others. It also has some nicely done black-and-white illustrations. "I wish good luck to this new venture in the Girl Guide world, and I am hopeful that all English-speaking Guides and Rangers not only will thoroughly enjoy the contents of the "First Trail", but also find that it adds to their understanding of the value of Guiding and of all that it may be made to mean in the developing of their lives and characters." Thank you!.…
