First edition in English, being a translation of Gauger's translation of Mécanique du feu (Paris, 1713), with additions; 12mo, pp. [12], 7-161, [12]; 9 engraved folding copperplates ( the first two slightly dampstained at the top, 1 other with a short repair in the upper corner - no loss - and one with a ragged lower margin - again, no loss); advertisement leaf in neat facsimile; joints starting, but in all a nice copy in contemporary full paneled calf. The book was reprinted in London by Senex and Curll in 1736, and another edition appeared in Paris as late as 1749.
