Pictorial wrappers, 11 14/" x 8 1/2", 72 pp. Very remarkable condition for a softcover pulp of the era, clean and bright despite it's white cover, and with very little spine wear. Minor rubbing, toning to the pulp-paper contents, which are still quite supple. About near fine, for the genre. Sharp. A very scarce and iconic issue from the pin-up pulp world of the 1930's, the covers of which, when executed by the likes of George Quintana, Enoch Bolles and Earle Bergey, are now referred to as "Good Girl" art. And, that they are. While Bolles covers are scarce enough, Quintana, about which very little else is known but that he painted such covers as these (see scan) is a particularly hard find. Contents are mostly Hollywood studio-produced photos of stars, anchored by those of fetching female stars. Plenty of rumor-mill type text as well, and a few short blurb-reviews of films. Quippy and/or light-hearted editor-inserted captions accompany the photos, mostly cinematic stills. A rare genre classic for both cover and content. - G.
