So over 260 pages, missing 2 pages 103-104, & No 16 pages 121 to 128.Please note No 18 is miss-placed after No 19. all include title pages. Condition Original leather and mottled hard back binding in good, well rubbed condition. Contents good, some dirt/marks, some pencil marks, some corner tip folds, endpages front/rear with pencil marks and writing, first endpage with edge loss. Figaro in Chesterfield is a rare anti-Tory weekly pamphlet, with the last issue of No 47 October 31, 1835 present. It was a mixture of newspaper and pamphlet, but spent most of its time in what could be scathing attacks on its enemies, of which there were seemingly many. It was described by Pendleton and Jacques in their ?Old and new Chesterfield? book (of 1903) as a ?very scathing publication, trouncing friend as well as foe? If published now ?Figaro? would have been chin high in writs for libel?. Size approx 22 x 13.5 cm.
