1978 First Printing large oversized illustrated softcover. UNREAD COPY with bright, unmarked, solidly bound pages. Paper cover shows some shelf-rubbing and some edge wear but remains intact and colorful. This is NOT an ex-library book and not a remainder. A very good, firm copy overall. From the Foreword by Pete Fornatale: "THE FACE OF ROCK & ROLL was conceived and brought into being by a couple of unabashed 'fans' named Bruce Pollock and John Wagman. A lot of books in the last few years have attempted to capture the emotional impact of rock. This one is different. It succeeds. The concept is deceptively simple. Album covers lovingly chosen to depict and symbolize various facets of the rock & roll phenomenon. Reflected in these covers we see fashion, passion, history, mystery, and most important of all, we see ourselves. The prose/poetry accompanying the album covers. fills in all of the blanks and ties the loose ends together. The words proved the framework for the pictures. In some ways, this book is a better family album of your life than a closet full of Polaroids and Instamatics. [It] gives you the eerie feeling that Bruce and John were looking over your shoulder and recording for posterity your innermost reactions to some of the most personal and deeply felt experiences of the last two decades.".…
