About this Item
Écrit en français et non en anglais. In French, not in English. Accordion-folding artist's book composed of matte paper pictorial boards and folding color lithographic interior. 'La Fable du Hasard' is a bright and colorful symbolic reinterpretation combining elements of "The Poor Man and the Rich Man" by the Brothers Grimm and "The Ridiculous Wishes" by Charles Perrault. The lithographs on Velin paper and printed by Ateliers Arte, Paris. The colors are still fresh and bright. 6.25 x 4.25 inches [15.5 x 11 cm]. Rated a Near Fine copy. Note that the light gray near the upper right corner of the front board is not soiling but rather is part of the artist's color palette. Lacking the lucite slipcase. Weight 4.25 ounces. Beautifully illustrated by the Swiss artist Warja Lavater [1913 - 2007], who was known for her stunning and imaginative interpretations of classic fables and fairy tales.
