Blue cloth, titled in gilt on upper board. Preface by R.B. Marston. Endpapers browned, stain to top edge of front end-paper, cloth slightly stained. Inscription on front paste-down "G.R. Pearson from W.K. Rollo. A small souvenir of a jolly party at the Forbes Arms. Alford, 19th May 1929." Errata-slip tipped-in. Colonel Rollo must have been one of the last advocates of the horsehair point and droppers used with a gut cast. A good treatise on North Country and Border flyfishing, originally published as articles in the Fishing Gazette. Includes a Prefatory Note by R.B. Marston, editor of the Fishing Gazette, which states Marston's definite preference for drawn gut. This cloth-bound issue is presumed to be the first issue.
