Item description from seller

First impression of the true first edition - the simultaneous paperback issue. There was also a simultaneous hardcover issue as well as a limited signed edition of 100 copies. The trade hardbacks were mostly intended for libraries. Published by Trigram Press. ***Near fine in matt-finish illustrated card covers with French flaps, with black titles to the spine and front cover. The covers are clean and unmarked - just slightly rubbed and creased at the extremities, and browned at the spine and the edges. No bumps or creases. Internally also near fine, with no previous ownership details. No marks or foxing. No creases or tears. The book is printed on nice quality paper. Olive-green front and rear free endpapers. No dustwrapper as issued. ***180mm x 110mm. 61 printed pages plus a note on the editions at the back of the book. ***'Ivor Cutler (born Isadore Cutler (15 Jan 1923 - 3 Mar 2006) was a Scottish poet, singer, musician, songwriter, artist and humorist. He became known for his regular performances on BBC radio, and in particular his numerous sessions recorded for John Peel's influential eponymous late-night radio programme (on BBC Radio 1), and later for Andy Kershaw's programme. He appeared in the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour film in 1967, and on Neil Innes's television programmes. Cutler also wrote books for children and adults, and was a teacher at A. S. Neill's Summerhill School and for 30 years in inner-city schools in London. Cutler earned a faithful cult following. John Peel once remarked that Cutler was probably the only performer whose work had been featured on Radio 1, 2, 3 and 4.' (Wiki) ***A really clean and well preserved copy of the wrappers issue of the first trade edition of "Many Flies Have Feathers. Of interest to collectors of Ivor Cutler's unique work, and quite scarce in any edition. ***For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging: any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only: we will reduce the P & P charge where appropriate - please contact us for postal rates for heavier books and sets etc.***.…
