Item description from seller

First impression of the first UK edition under the author's own name. The book was originally published in the UK by Peter Davies in 1978 under the pseudonym K. R. Dwyer, and in the US by Bobbs-Merrill in 1977 under the alternative pseudonym of Brian Coffey. ***Near fine in black cloth covered boards with silver titles to the spine. The boards are clean and unmarked. Head of spine slightly creased, otherwise no bumps or creases. Corners sharp. Page block edges clean. No reading lean to the binding. Spine tight. Internally also near fine with no inscriptions. No creases or tears. The cheap paper stock has tanned as usual. ***In a near fine colour illustrated dustwrapper, which has not been price-clipped, retaining the original publisher's printed price of £16.99. Extremities of dustwrapper just slightly rubbed, and creased. No serious creases and no chips or tears. Slight fading to the green titles on the spine. Dustwrapper bright. ***314 pages. 224mm x 144mm. ***'Dean Ray Koontz (born July 9, 1945) is an American author. His novels are billed as suspense thrillers, but frequently incorporate elements of horror, fantasy, science fiction, mystery, and satire. Many of his books have appeared on The New York Times Best Seller list, with fourteen hardcovers and sixteen paperbacks reaching the number-one position. Koontz wrote under a number of pen names earlier in his career, including "David Axton", "Deanna Dwyer", "K.R. Dwyer", "Leigh Nichols" and "Brian Coffey". He has published over 105 novels and a number of novellas and collections of short stories, and has sold over 450 million copies of his work.' (Wiki) ***"Exciting stuff" - Publisher's Weekly. ***"Super suspenseful with a double-take finish" - Observer (Review quotes taken from the back flap of the dustwrapper) ***A near fine copy of the first UK edition published under the author's real name. Uncommon. ***For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging: any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only: we will reduce the P & P charge where appropriate - please contact us for postal rates for heavier books and sets etc.
