In Japanese. Appears to be a first edition of (NAP). From an Exhibition in Tokyo and Kyoto from April 6 to May 26 in Tokyo and from June 4 to July 14 in Kyoto, both in 1985. A great many color illustrations, all in excellent condition. You can see the covers in the photos. There is a little wear at the corners and just off the top edge of the rear cover. There is a good deal of soiling at the top page edge. A little bit of this can be seen just off the top edge of the front cover. The middle page edge is very clean. The bottom page edge has one small tan spot. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The pages are, in the main, clean. However, scrolling through I saw a number of instances where there was a little tan spot just off the top edge of the page, likely related to the soiling on the top page edge. The semi-glossy pages also have sun toning at their margins. There is little to no wear on the pages. I saw one with a crinkle on it, and the first few pages have a speck-sized nick at their outer edge, no tears. There are no markings in the book. There is one attachment. It's off the top edge of the front inside cover. It states 'From The Library of Goldye & Ben Meltzer.' There's no writing to be found anywhere in the book. 'Pointillism is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image. Georges Seurat and Paul Signac developed the technique in 1886, branching from Impressionism. The term 'Pointillism' was coined by art critics in the late 1880s to ridicule the works of these artists, but is now used without its earlier pejorative connotation. The movement Seurat began with this technique is known as Neo-impressionism. The Divisionists used a similar technique of patterns to form images, though with larger cube-like brushstrokes.'.
