Add to basketA very good copy, for its age, in a good dust jacket of the first hardback edition (1954) of this collection of new stories about Sherlock Holmes, written by Arthur Conan Doyle's son and the great crime writer, John Dickson Carr. Dust Jacket: red and white laminated paper with colour image of Sherlock Holmes and red and white lettering to front and spine, and red and blue lettering on a white ground to rear; bright and clean; some rubbing and chipping to all edges and corners, with some minor loss, commensurate with age and use, some fading to spine but really in good condition; not price clipped. Cover: red cloth covered boards with gilt lettering to front spine; very bright and clean; few visible signs of shelf wear, just slight fading to top and bottom of spine. Internally: very clean and tightly bound; no markings, inscriptions or book plates; some darkening to page edges and pages slightly yellowed with age; otherwise in excellent condition. x,314 pp.
