Southern Main Lines Exeter to Barnstaple by Vic Mitchell & Keith Smith Formerly part of the main line to North Cornwall and North Devon, this scenic route is mostly in deep valley and follows tranquil rivers for most of its length. The trains illustrated range from the long holiday expresses of yesteryear to the single railcars of today. Old maps and tickets help to tell the story of an important part of this local railway route.
