Item description from seller

A very good copy in original cream cloth in poor d/w that is incomplete. The author, who was considered a world authority, was shot by a sniper in Africa during World War 2 and this volume was published postumously. A companion volume, English Pistols & Revolvers was published in 1938, we have this title also in stock. Excellent full-plate illustrations of pistols & revolvers. Bookplate of previous owner to inside of front board. This is not to be confused with the reprints in which the illustrations are not as good. 344pp + 1p advertisement.
