Classic wrap-around jacket design of school of translucent blue fish - one in fuscia, in red bubbling water with dripping game device at back, by Jaya Miceli and Sam Weber. Fine first edition in same dynamic wrapper. Here is Stephen King at the height of his powers. Masterfully plotted, SK's third in the Bill Hodges trilogy is propelled toward its page-blurring conclusion by two deadly forces: Hodges' advancing death and Brady's relentless murder impulse. This chilling tale of suspense places retired detective Bill Hodges back on the trail of his nemesis Brady Hartsfield, the criminal the press calls The Mercedes Killer. Foiled in his attempt to commit a second mass murder, Hartsfield is confined to a brain injury unit and is seemingly unresponsive. But it is not what it seems: Brady is able to influence his physician and the hospital librarian to commit crimes. Now, the tech genius has created a hypnotic electronic game compelling users to commit suicide. Brady is determined to target the three people who put him in the hospital - Hodges and his two partners, Holly and Jerome. Then Brady plans to initiate a mass suicide epidemic! Both a stand-alone tale and the final episode in the Hodges trilogy - a thrilling read that takes the series into a powerful new dimension. 432 pages. Insured post. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" Tall.
