About this Item
8vo. [6], vii-xxiii, [3], 3-418, [6] pp. Maroon glossy boards with gold lettering on the spine. Price of $24.95 on the front flap of the dust jacket. Fukuyama's treatise asks: is there a direction to human history? Written in the wake of the collapse of the Soviet Union, the author postulates that capitalist liberal democracies are perhaps the endgame for socities, as modern science and individualism motivate modern people to work towards a better life for themselves. A fascinating read in light of the events that have occurred since the fall of the Berlin Wall. A touch of foxing to the top textblock, a name and a private owner's blindstamp on the free front endpaper; jacket with a tiny nick, otherwise a sharp copy. Seller Inventory # 000012889
