Minor edge and corner wear; no dj; lightly scuffed and scratched; corners are gently bumped and rubbed; some light shelf wear; ex-library with the usual library markings; overall a nice used copy! Green boards with white lettering on the spine and a full pastedown on the front board. 140 historical and magical pages! "Emily Dickinson is a part of a stark tradition - one that includes philosophers and poets from Edward Taylor to Robert Frost. Her intense preoccupation with pain, death, and immortality typified the introspective Puritan conscience, while her terse poetic shorthand reflected New England traits of frugality and conciseness. Like Thoreau, Dickinson searched within the recesses of her spirit, and her poetry reveals the soul's infinite capacity for awareness." ---- from the Preface.
