Cloth. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Later Printing. Later Printing. [2], [2-frontis], iii-xxiii, [1-blank], [1]-558 pages, followed by blank leaf and appendix B which was printed on both sides of the rear flyleaf plus the rear pastedown (3 pages total). 8vo. Blue cloth with black spine labeling. Binding sound, with none of the usual spine darkening so common on this title. Previous owner's name ("Douglas Ritchie 1970") on the front pastedown. Rubbing to the dust jacket spine panel and some shallow creasing to the head/tail spine and edges. While this is a later printing, this title has become increasingly difficult to find in a presentable dust jacket. Cloth. The ninth printing, September 1966. The first printing was November 1950. The dust jacket rear panel shows Rowe's book "Signals and Noise in Communication Systems" as the last title (published in 1966). An important book, often reprinted, authored by Shockley who, with Bardeen and Brattain, co-invented the transistor and were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1956 "for their researches on semiconductors and their discovery of the transistor effect".
