Ultra-rare memoir of American architect Edward Palmer York, who began his career with eight years as a draughtsman at McKim, Mead & White (working closely alongside Stanford White), before leaving to form seminal New York architectural firm York and Sawyer. Brief introduction by his widow, Muriel York, before the reminiscences noted in the title. Lavishly printed on fine French Arches paper with gilt at top of book block. Bookplate in front of George Page Ely, a New York real estate and insurance magnate, along with a brief inscription from Muriel to George and Caro (George Page Ely's wife Caroline, daughter of the American artist J. Alden Weir). In excellent condition overall - interior bright and clean, cover fine - save for lightly bowed boards and a light musky odor. 76 pages, hardcover in gilt-stamped paper over linen-backed boards, 9.5" by 7.25".
