Elephant Folio. 12.5 x 17". 9pp. (text) + 70 pages of plates + (12). Blue cloth, with illustration pasted on, and white lettering on the front cover and spine. Original glassine wrappers present. The publication is a splendidly produced monograph on the work of acclaimed Norwegian artist Edvard Munch, with 9 pages of introduction by Norwegian art historian Johan H. Langaard at the front. Included are 70 plates of high quality offset prints (including 10 double-page fold-outs measuring 17 x 23.5") in color and b/w. Many of Munch's most well known works including "The Scream" and his self-portrait are present. The back of the book includes bibliographic notes on the works featured. Text in Italian. Glassine wrappers, with some chipping to corners and some smudging. Binding with some sunning along edges and some light smudging. Light spotting to the edges of the book block. Interior with some foxing to the endpapers and to the edges of some of the plates. Light creasing to the right edge of a few of the double page fold-out plates. All images unaffected.
