Item description from seller

First edition, first impression - dated 1919 to the title page and with no statement of reprint to the verso. A notably handsome example of the book that made Keynes' reputation, described by his biographer Skidelsky as "one of the most influential books of the twentieth century". Near Fine: firm and square binding in vivid blue cloth; no toning or fading to the spine (scarce, thus); bright gilt lettering and ruling to the spine; a couple of minor marks by the bottom-edge of the lower board; lightly rubbed and pushed to the spine tips and corners; toned to the edge of the page block with a little dustiness to the top-edge; original owner's name and address elegantly in ink to the ffep; one major and a few minor corner creases; faded 2cm vertical ink line to the margin of one page; else, very bright and clean pages with minimal marking and no foxing. Lacking the dustwrapper. A very collectable copy. All orders are sent carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and sturdy cardboard.
