Small Folio. xxiii, 170pp., 55 plates with printed tissue guards, 3 of them in color, including 2 foldouts, 3 foldout maps. Three quarter black cloth over blue boards with gilt ruling and lettering on cover. The Eckley B. Coxe Jr. Foundation New Series Volume I. Dr. Clarence S. Fisher was appointed curator of the Egyptian Section of the museum as well as director of the Egyptian Expedition in 1914 which immediately began its work. Mr. Coxe made the entire provision for this undertaking. The sites chosen have been at Giza, Denderehm Thebes and at Memphis. This volume focuses on Giza. Beautifully illustrated with striking b/w photographs, three color reproductions of the chamber of Sneferu-Hetep, three foldout plans of the excavation sites and numerous in-text illustrations of artifacts and inscriptions as well as plans. List of plates and in-text illustrations at front. Binding with library barcode on front cover, library sticker on spine. Some light wear along edges, bumps at corners. Library bookplate on inside front cover, library pocket and numeric stamp on inside back cover. Library stamps to top and bottom edges. Binding in overall good+, interior in very good condition.
