First Edition. [iv], 64 pp. Hardback in jacket, not price clipped. Jacket worn at edge, with fading to edges. Ink owner's name to ffep., dated 1941, otherwise internally clean. A near fine copy of MacNeice's second poetry collection. Also included is a 4 pp. Group Theatre pamphlet which sets out their aims and has a membership form attached. The Group Theatre was an experimental theatre group set up in 1932 that performed plays by MacNeice, Stephen Spender, and Christopher Isherwood. 8vo. Seller Inventory # 68440

We have been trading in Chiswick for 55 years - come and visit us in our bow-windowed c18th shop. All of our shipments are now tracked. Stephen Foster ; Foster Books, 183 Chiswick High Road, London W4 2DR. Old and rare books, a good turnover of stock leaning towards Arts subjects. Fine bindings, illustrated, literature. Only 5 minutes walk from Turnham Green tube station on the District Line in West London. The Chiswick shop is open Monday to Saturday 10-30 to 17-30 GMT and most Sundays 11 to 5 and earlier at the beginning of the month when the Flower and Antiques Markets are on in front of the shop (by all means call in advance to be sure). We only list a small proportion of the ever changing stock.
