Owners small, neat contemporaneous name and date in black ink to top of front free endpaper: 'John Betts, October 1896.' Edges and corners of boards rubbed - corners bumped. Spine tight. Head and tail of spine rubbed and slightly frayed. Gilt to spine slightly dulled. Top edge of text-block darkened. All edges of text-block rough-cut (as called for).
