Item description from seller

°°° [SUMMER SALES: PRICE-REDUCTION of 50% until Monday, September 21, 2026; previously EUR 650,-] --- FIRST EDITION, CLOTHBOUND ORIGINAL; 'WELL-READ' BY ECONOMIST AND PHILOSOPHER ALFRED SOHN RETHEL, with his partly extensive analytic pencil-annotations in english on ca. 15 pages and the front-endpaper as well as ballpen on the rear-endpaper and mainly in ink (some pencil) half- to wholepage on the verso of 3,5 loosely inserted 1946-dated folded patient-file-sheets (DinA4) of Birmingham-Hospital - the city where he lived and the place where his wife worked that time (and another smaller sheet). --- A BEAUTIFUL COPY with meaningful association as it was mainly Horkheimer who prevented Sohn-Rethel - being closer with Theodor W. Adorno - to join the 'Frankfurter Institut für Sozialforschung'. Another relation to Germany is given by the patient's (Harold B.) desease described on the rectal, sorry recto of the sheets referring to his swollen right testicle which could not be cured because he had to return to british-military postwar service in Germany. . . - ENDS OF SPINE MINIMALLY RUBBED, ELSE IN BEST CONDITION. --- MANY MORE BOOKS FROM ALFRED SOHN-RETHELS PERSONAL LIBRARY incl. his heavily annotated own works - IN STOCK. . .
