About this Item
This is a UK SECOND edition hardcover, published by John Heywood (Manchester) in 1859 with revisions and corrections by the author. The photos show the condition better than I can describe, however overall I am grading as Good condition for its age, The book has a straight spine and solid corners but the spine ends are scuffed and there is a split at the top of the spine. The interior of the book sees the front end paper split along the seam but the boards are still firmly attached to the book. The pages are grubby throughout and I've put photos up of an example so you know what to expect. The text, however, is clear and legible. The book has 312 pages and the last page has been nibbled at the top corner, which I mention for completeness. The title page confirms the second edition in 1859. Seller Inventory # 015687

Store Description
All books in my store are my own and in my possession. I expect customers to read my listings fully and look at all photos and be aware of the terms. I will work with everyone to resolve issues but I expect the same courtesy back - if I don't reply to an email within 24 hours it means I haven't received it so you'll need to resend.
I charge shipping that reflects my actual costs. I do NOT offer cheap shipping and add it to the book price so please do not complain to me that Bob down the road offers cheaper postage. Sure he does - but the price of his book is hiked to reclaim it, or you're referring to a power seller who can negotiate postage discounts. I can't - I'm a private individual selling my private collection. ABE only allows me to set one postage rate so I charge the rate for hardbacks sent in a box with bubble wrap and polystyrene peanuts. Where postage is less - eg a paperback or small hardback - I refund the difference once I get my receipts and know the exact cost. Tracking is NOT provided automatically on UK parcels - you have to choose priority mail AND pay an additional £7 postage on top.
