Item description from seller

182 pages. 24 x 15 cm. This copy has two important book plates, that of Phil Townsend Hanna and Marcus Crahan. Frontispiece illustration by Hernando Villa - "Outdoor Kitchen Old California". De Packman includes a description of Domestic Life in Early California & Essential Native Food Products along with recipes, menus and a glossary of terms. Ana was a champion of the city's history and built environment. For more than 22 years, she served as Secretary of the Historical Society of Southern California and was a charter member of the First Families of California. Laid in: two copies of the publishers prospectus. Pages lightly toned. Boards lightly soiled, rubbed at corners and head and tail of spine. Orange cloth covered boards. Very good.…
