VG+/VG- First edition. Black cloth with gilt lettering and design stamped on spine, color pictorial label by Wyeth past on front cover. Contains 14 illustrations, title page, endpapers and cover label all in color by Wyeth, plus numerous chapter headings in B&W by Wyeth. This book is tight and clean but has some wear - 3" triangular water stain lower RH rear cover, sl ,edgewear and corner wear. The DJ is the first issue with paste on cover label and 'Drums' as title at top of rear cover. DJ is somewhat brittle, some fold marks and a variety of other nicks and scratches, cover label small scratches, edgewear and small generally closed tears to the jacket, 4" X 1/2" chip across top of rear cover and spine with an adjacent 1/2" x 2" vertical chip at top of spine and front cover hinge. The DJ is 95% present, which is the reason the DJ is graded VG- rather than G+. In a Brodart cover, with brown paper inserted (but not taped) underneath so it looks like near 100% of the DJ is present despite the aforementioned chips.
