318pp. First edition of the author's third novel. Light blue/grey cloth covered boards with maroon titling on spine. Sun fade to cloth at top and lower edges of boards and also to tip of top of spine. Crease to cloth at top of spine. Previous owner's gift inscription on ffep dated January 1956. Split to paper hinge at title page (not impacting on the binding). Light age toning to page block. Clean inside pages, tightly bound. Unclipped grey and yellow dust jacket designed by John Minton. Toning to top edge of flaps and all rear panel. Slight loss and shelf wear to top and tail of spine. Sun fade to lettering on spine. All now protected in clear archival wrapper.
